Logan Nirmalananda

Co-Founder & CEO

Logan's connection to aged care began early. He and his cousin, Kieran, are the sons of Nirmalan and Sundar, who together established Aequra's first residence in Strathfield in 1984.

Logan’s connection to aged care began early. He and his cousin, Kieran, are the sons of Nirmalan and Sundar, who together established Aequra’s first residence in Strathfield in 1984. While studying, Logan took on a series of entry-level roles at the Strathfield residence, gaining a first-hand understanding of the sector that continues to shape Aequra’s values.

After completing a Bachelor of Economics and Finance degree from the University of Sydney, Logan spent 14 years in global investment banking with Lehman Brothers and Credit Suisse, based in Tokyo and Hong Kong, before returning to Australia in 2014 to take on the day-to-day leadership of Aequra alongside Kieran.

Growth and vision at Aequra are shared between the two CEOs: together, Logan and Kieran have expanded the organisation’s portfolio of residential homes and led its move into home care, driven by a shared ambition to modernise the aged care experience. Logan has also held a number of board-level positions across the aged care and dementia care sectors.

At Aequra, Logan remains closely involved in operations and long-term strategy, ensuring the organisation continues to evolve to meet the needs of Australia’s growing number of older Australians who require aged care support.

Kieran Eswaran

Co-Founder & CEO

Kieran and his cousin, Logan, are the sons of Sundar and Nirmalan, respectively, who established Aequra’s first aged care residence in Strathfield back in 1984.

Kieran and his cousin, Logan, are the sons of Sundar and Nirmalan, respectively, who established Aequra’s first aged care residence in Strathfield back in 1984. In his youth, Kieran regularly worked at Jesmond by Aequra. This gave him valuable exposure to the aged care sector in is formative years. He saw firsthand the positive effects that care could have on a person’s life. After completing both a Bachelor of Commerce and a Post-Graduate in Applied Finance degree from the University of Wollongong, Kieran spent over 15 years working for a global investment bank based in Tokyo and then Singapore overseeing their Funds Management and IT Operations.

In 2013 Kieran returned with his family to Australia. It was at this time both Logan and him took over the day-to-day operations of Aequra. Today, the company owns and manages a number of aged care residences, along with a comprehensive home care business that operates along the East Coast. Kieran has a collaborative style and enjoys building independent, agile teams who can respond to the ever-changing needs of the both the industry and the business. At Aequra, Kieran is responsible for leading the company’s operations and embedding key improvements that enable care to be delivered in a meaningful way to both Aequra’s residents and LiveWell’s customers. A core tenet to Kieran’s way of working is his continual quest to deliver high standards of quality care throughout the organisation.

Jade is a senior health and aged care executive specialising in organisational transformation, governance, strategy, and operational excellence. With expertise in corporate and clinical governance, regulatory compliance and financial management, she is passionate about building sustainable, high-performing organisations that deliver exceptional outcomes for residents, clients, and communities. Jade holds three master’s degrees and also serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director across the aged care, NDIS and community care sectors.

Carlos joined Aequra in November 2024 as Chief Financial Officer. He brings more than 20 years’ experience in commercial banking and finance, with deep expertise in financial management, business planning, negotiation, acquisition funding and M&A across the aged care, healthcare, education and social sectors.

Prior to joining Aequra, Carlos held senior roles with Westpac and ANZ, where he supported a broad range of healthcare and social infrastructure organisations with their growth, acquisition and expansion strategies. During his nine years at Westpac, Carlos held a number of leadership roles, most recently leading the education and social sector team.
At Aequra, Carlos leads the finance function with a focus on financial governance, sustainable growth, acquisition integration and long-term financial performance. His commercial experience and understanding of the aged care sector support Aequra’s mission to provide high-quality, compassionate care to residents and home care clients, while ensuring the organisation remains financially strong and well positioned for the future.
Carlos holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a qualified CPA.
